The product you use to cleanse your face can make a big impact on the health and appearance of your skin, both in the short term and the long term. That’s why cleansing your skin thoroughly is one of the most important steps of any skincare routine. Regularly washing your skin removes excess oil, sebum and dirt as well as any makeup or sunscreens that you apply to your face. However, for those with skin that’s prone to redness and irritation, it’s important to choose the best cleanser for sensitive skin.

Harsh cleansers can strip your skin of its natural oils and dry it out, so dermatologists recommend using a facial cleanser that has been specifically formulated for sensitive skin. A cleanser for sensitive skin shouldn’t contain irritating ingredients that may worsen your easily upset skin but instead should contain hydrating and cleansing agents that are gentle and non-sensitising.

Sensitive skin can be irritated by a range of ingredients, including soaps and fragrances which can be drying and cause irritation. That’s why a good indication of the best cleanser for dry and sensitive skin is to look for the label with the fewest ingredients. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is formulated without the use of any soaps and is fragrance-free, whilst still effectively cleansing your skin and removing makeup. Lanolin is another key ingredient to avoid for sensitive skin, as it’s is known to be irritating and can trigger allergic reactions. All Cetaphil products, including the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, have been created without lanolin.

This cleanser for sensitive skin is super gentle and leaves the skin feeling moisturised while helping to soothe redness that often accompanies dry sensitive skin.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is suitable for:

All skin types.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser has been conveniently formulated so it can be used with or without water. If applying with water, start with damp skin. Using the handy pump lid, apply a pea-sized amount of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser to your hand and gently massage into your skin. Start with your cheeks and work your way to your forehead, ensuring you also cleanse down to your neck and décolletage as well. Rinse your skin with lukewarm water.

If you’re applying this cleanser for sensitive skin without water, start by applying a coin-sized amount to your skin and gently massaging the product in as above. Remove excess product with a soft cloth or cotton pad.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is gentle enough to use both morning and night on even the driest and most sensitive of skin types. It can also be used to remove light makeup at any time throughout the day. Using the Cetaphil Gentle Skin cleanser should be the first step of your skincare routine. After you’ve cleansed, follow up with Cetaphil Moisturising Cream to lock in hydration.
