Are your dry or itchy feet keeping you awake at night? Here are some skin-soothing remedies to help you sleep soundly and itch-free.
Do your feet keep you awake at night? Dry, itchy feet are a common culprit, but do you know what’s causing it? You could have athlete’s foot, dry skin, or suffer with skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. Here are some common symptoms and how to cure them.
Here’s our expert advice on how to keep your skin hydrated and itch-free:
Dry Skin
Heat and humidity draw moisture from the skin, which can lead to dry or cracked areas on the feet. On top of that, you’re walking around on your feet all day, so the skin can become much thicker and drier than usual.
To combat sore, dry skin, use a heavy-duty moisturiser like DU’IT foot and heel balm.
Itchy skin
To relieve the symptoms of itchy skin, try a cooling lotion or moisturiser containing menthol. Menthol provides a cooling sensation to combat irritation and relieve itching, while the moisturiser eliminates any dryness.
ENA’s soothing peppermint foot treatment is our fave. It’s packed with peppermint essential oil to cool, nourish and soften the skin.

Athlete’s Foot
If you have any redness, cracking or flaking between the toes, you could be suffering with athlete’s foot, a fungal skin infection that can occur from wearing tight-fitting shoes. As a result, your feet become hot and sweaty, causing the infection to spread.
Symptoms include a scaly rash that usually causes itching, stinging and burning. Athlete’s foot is contagious and can be spread via contaminated floors, towels or clothing. To treat the infection, your doctor can write you a prescription, but you can also buy over-the-counter medication to treat yourself.
Spritz with Solveasy Tinea Spray to fight off the infection fast.
Eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis
Anyone prone to eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis — red, dry, itchy or inflamed skin — will know all too well the uncomfortable symptoms that come with it; patches of red, itchy skin, inflammation and/or dry patches that often flake and can become extremely sore. Your feet are no exception, so if you suffer with any of these skin conditions, you are at risk of it spreading to your feet, too. Here are two wonder products that could help:
